Web 2.0 Definition

What is Web 2.0? Web 2.0 is a term given to the interactive generation of web. The capabilities of Web 2.0 appeals highly to Generation Y as it satisfies their need for instancy, technology and networking. Web 2.0 allows users to share information, interact and even contribute to existing sites.

In comparison, Web 1.0 allowed users to view other sites, but only the site manager had the ability to make modifications, Web 2.0 gives users more control over existing sites, allowing them to modify and customise pages.

  1. Web 2.0 shouldn't really have a definition. The web has no versions. And there certainly was never a Web 1.0

The web has always been "interactive", it's simply becoming more intuitive as new technologies are introduced.

But again, there's no such thing as Web 2.0, and people (especially web professionals) need to stop throwing the term around as if it were real.

Sorry, it's not your fault, I'm just venting. ;)
